Almost two years in the making, this project was made real through the statistical brilliance of the Guardian data scientists, members of UCL's Centre for Data Intensive Science and Industry and the wonderful Garry Blight & @michaelsavage.bsky.social

Hugely proud to be a part of it.

We all instinctively know that sentiment towards immigrants has reached new lows in the UK.

Well this proves it.

Labour and Conservative MPs are speaking in a more hostile way about immigration than at almost any other time in the last century...

We used genAI for the categorisations, applying rigourous checks, in keeping with our editorial guidance on its use.

Far-right Facebook groups are engine of radicalisation in UK, data investigation suggests Rioters were influenced by network that exposes hundreds of thousands of Britons to racist disinformation, Guardian research indicates

Immigrants and muslims bore the brunt of the most vicious posts: you can see some of them here👇

Facebook told us it had reviewed the three main groups analysed by the Guardian but that the content did not violate its hateful conduct policy.
