🚒🚑 An on call firefighter and his brother are embarking on a 165-mile cycling challenge today from Butt to Barra, in memory of their mum.

John Adams and Christopher Adams, were inspired by the care their mum received at Bethesda Hospice in Stornoway during her final days.

⚠️ Smoke warning - Shewalton Road, Irvine ⚠️

We are currently on the scene of a fire at a recycling centre on Shewalton Road, Irvine.

Due to high levels of smoke, residents nearby are advised to keep their windows and doors closed and remain indoors.

🚒 We are running a public consultation on 23 options for change involving more than 30 fire stations across Scotland.

The operational model of the Service has remained largely unchanged for years. This review will look at matching our resources to operational risk and demand.

This Sunday, Firefighter George Gourlie of Peterhead Community Fire Station will undertake an incredible challenge, a 555-mile cycle around Ireland in five days.

Firefighters in Ayrshire are highlighting the dangers of entering derelict buildings and setting fires.

The area has seen a number of these types of incidents which are a needless drain on resources and dangerous.

Firefighters are currently attending to a derelict building fire on Corstorphine Road, Edinburgh.

As a precaution, members of the public are being asked to avoid the area and those who live nearby are advised to close windows and doors due to the smoke in the vicinity.

Young people in Renfrewshire gained hands-on experience with @scottishfirerescue.bsky.social through a week-long fire safety course.

The programme helped young people develop practical skills, teamwork and build confidence to foster positive futures.
