USCP Sgt Gonell retired from the force thanks to the injuries he suffered on that day, writing in his resignation letter, “I think it’s in my best interest to take time off away from the daily reminders that keep re-triggering my trauma.”

Officer Hodges was on the front lines that held rioters from breaching the west front door of the Capitol on January 6th, seen in video broadcast around the world being crushed between the door and rioters violently trying to pass him.

Capitol Police Captain Carneysha Mendoza was at home when the attack began, and she rushed to Capitol, "It was just a sad moment for me.”
“I hope they'll remember how hard we fought and the bravery of the officers that were here on January 6,” she said.

Officer Booth dragged injured officers away from the west front.
“They were spraying just cans and cans of what we thought was pepper spray and bear mace and all that, found out later it was Raid ant repellent, it was WD-40…any kind of spray that would harm someone's eyes,” Booth said.

Lt Brooks, who was a Civil Disturbance Unit Commander, was on the West Front of the Capitol when the building was breached on January 6th. She described being tackled, her helmet stolen, they tried to take her gasmask.
"It was awful," she recounted.
