A day later and no major national news org has covered what they're doing in Kansas.

This is the flip side of the hyper focus on trans issues by the right. The national media ignores what's actually being done to trans people.

This erasure is what contributes to the persecution.

Part of the reason the whole country hasn't been screaming about trans Kansans who drive being made criminals overnight is because there's so much else that's unconstitutional and horrifying.

But part of it is because it's happening to trans people.

Seeing some "fuck Kansas" replies/QTs and while I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment behind the statement, I think a better response would be "fuck, we need to help the people of Kansas"

Kansas Republicans force transgender bathroom restrictions into law | KCUR - Kansas City news and NPR Republicans voted to override the governor's veto and put the restrictions into state law. It will require people to use bathrooms in public places that align with their sex assigned at birth.

This law will cause people to die, and that is not hyperbole. The genocide of trans people in the United States is accelerating.

DHS post: Today, Border Patrol agents who were in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area as part of a targeted enforcement operation were repeatedly harassed and blocked by hostile crowds while simply trying to take bathroom breaks. At each gas station where the agents stopped to use the restroom, groups of agitators appeared, yelled at them, stalked them, and even tried to prevent law enforcement vehicles from leaving, creating unsafe conditions. At one stop, individuals in the crowd threw food at the agents. At their final gas station stop, someone spit on an agent. When an agent moved to detain the person who spit on him, the crowed tackled and attacked the agents while surrounding them.

As a transsexual I can't tell you how thrilled I am that fascists are feeling unsafe in bathrooms.
