Three takeaways from Penn State football’s shocking 42-37 loss vs. UCLA The Bruins came into Saturday averaging 14.3 points per game and were widely regarded as the worst team in the Big Ten.

A disastrous loss for Penn State. The worst of James Franklin's tenure as head coach. UCLA wins, 42-37.

Would watch for play-action from UCLA here to try and end it.

That play call is going to create some Conversations.

Great decision to go by UCLA but Penn State's defense blows it up. Enormous play by Zakee Wheatley.

There's a whole lot wrong with the Penn State defense today, but it so clearly misses having Tony Rojas out there.

I said this defense was the best in the country after last week against Oregon. It's putting the work in to make me look like a moron. Flat-out awful against a bad offense.

Gonna need to see a better angle, but it looked like Zuriah Fisher should've broken that up.

Gary Danielson suggesting Tony Rojas is trying to preserve his eligibility and redshirt is both reckless and obviously incorrect.

Great run by Kaytron Allen with a good block on the edge by Luke Reynolds to get Penn State on the board. That might be one of the offense's best drives of the season.

Just a nightmare start for Penn State. UCLA surprise onside and the Bruins recover.

For the first time this season, UCLA has a lead. A terrible drive for the Penn State defense to open the game.

Another top-10 matchup, another loss. Where does Penn State football go from here? James Franklin is now 4-21 against AP top-10 teams. He acknowledged after the loss to Oregon that the narrative about his failures isn’t really narrative. It’s fact.

It happened again last night. The boos. The expletives. The frustration. The disappointment.
