Also generally with standalone HMDs, battery placement like the Pico headsets, where the battery is on the back of the head, makes so much more sense. I'd rather have an all around heavier headset if it meant that the weight distribution is more balanced.

like yeah maybe it was a fad in the early 2010s, but I still think it would have huge potential tbh. Hoping that the Valve Deckard will make flatscreen 3d a normal thing again, especially with it's supposed focus as an HMD that can also play flatscreen games.

Like ofc response times would be a consideration, but you could probably calibrate 3d shuttering glasses to sync up with it, and likely with any monitor as long as it's 120hz or faster, especially with how tv sets already have black-frame-insertion. ...

okay 8.1 was a massive improvement over windows 8 to be fair. it reintroduced the start button back as a button to the taskbar, and allowed for windowed Store apps. overall was also one of the most stable versions of windows released.
