Sometimes polyamory is wondering why your husband hasn’t replied to your random text asking if he’ll bring you home tacos for lunch and checking his location to see that he is alive, it’s just that he’s gone over to his lover’s for a little afternoon delight.

but still, we all need to keep in mind the parasocial nature of these apps, as well as the reality that you consent to content from creators you subscribe to, but not the other way around 🫶🏼

These incidences are more often than not coming from a well-meaning place, and I appreciate the fan mail and the love…

Beyond basic consent issues, there’s also the fact that I’m a demisexual and get an ick deep in my soul when s3xual details I’m not open to are thrust on me. 🥴

But for a monogamous person, I imagine monogamy would feel freeing to them.

Perhaps the expansion polyam folks feel within the looser borders of polyamory is similar to what monogamous folks might feel from the grounding, contained nature of monogamy.

I’m sure there are righteous polyam folks who go around projecting our realities onto everyone else— assuming the confines we felt within monogamy to be what everyone feels, and justifying the nature of the structure as our “proof”.

Turbinate Hypertrophy Nasal Obstruction We are starting this channel at the end of our long, traumatic journey—6 weeks after Shoo's 4th surgery (and 4th ENT). This doctor is the one who actually listened to us, allowed me to advocate for a procedure I had learned about in my support group (which is the only way to test a special needs toddler who cannot comply with a single intervention or exam for sleep apnea), unexpectedly found the problem, and the solution, and fixed it on the spot. She changed our lives forever. Knowing how many other parents are still on this nightmarish journey because of the online support group I'm in, and knowing how many holes in the system need to be fixed, I recorded audio of our appointment, during which I asked every single question I could think to ask: -How could we have caught this sooner? -Why did no one else catch it? -Why did so many doctors not believe me? -What things could other parents say to their doctors when coming up against similar issues, especially with regard to getting treatment for special needs children, or children whose sleep apnea is still prevalent even after T&A removal? -What should I put in the letter I'm sending to every doctor who came across our path and failed to help? We will do only one more video for this channel, in which we will layout the entire timeline of events, from birth to diagnosis, which took 3.5 years, 50+ doctor's visits, 4 surgeries, 4 ENTs, a pulmonologist, 2 airway dentists, 2 myofascial therapists, 2 pediatricians, an online support group, and 1 desperate mama who wouldn't stop until her little one could breathe. I can't tell you how many countless hours I've spent desperately googling in the middle of the night, at my wit's end, with a screaming baby who can't stay asleep or get into a deep sleep...almost ever. There are VERY few anwers for anyone on the pediatric sleep apnea journey, and it often involves a ton of medical gaslighting. Then, if your child is autistic or has complex medical needs, there is NO protocol to guide you. We were left out to suffer by specialist after specialist. But our entire medical system needs fixed in so many ways, and one of them is making sure to not leave autistic kids who can’t comply with testing out to pasture.

I’m currently helping two other mamas in my online support group advocate through a similar mess, and it’s really hard and triggering, but now I know I wasn’t fucking crazy, and neither are they.

But this Christmas we had a healthy kid who willingly wore Jammies for the first time ever, happily opened gifts (even more calmly and presently than his sibling!) and even celebrated getting a new bed (after refusing to let us get rid of his crib). 🙌🏼

We all dreaded all mornings because of how miserable they were after long, miserable nights, each and every night, and Christmas morning was just another lesson in surrender and grief.

Last Christmas he screamed until we set him up in a separate room with tv and refused to open any gifts because he was so tired and dysregulated from the change in routine.

This clip probably seems normal to everyone else, but if only you knew what mornings used to look like with an oxygen/sleep deprived autistic toddler with OSA😭

My Christmas gift from the universe was my autistic toddler happily and willingly participating in Christmas for the first time ever because he can finally sleep and breathe at night…all bc one doctor finally stopped letting his autism & inability to comply with testing get in the way of his care 😭

The overstimulated mom urge to scream “stop needing me” and “stop saying mom” 😭
