2 Mar. 1847 - JCR wrote that no one acquainted with the navigation of the region would expect Franklin to pass through Bering Strait without at least 2 overwinters, the expedition was provisioned on full allowance for 3 years, stretchable to 4 & he t/fore would not send after them until Spring 1848
