Let me conclude by saying that I find your way of bridging liberal and communitarian ideas very persuasive. That’s where I position myself as well. If I may ask, how would you describe your position? Liberal-communitarian? Liberal nationalist? Something else?

I found the article interesting as a panoramic overview of the convergence around liberal egalitarianism in academia, but I am bothered by the deification of Rawls and the mockery of alternatives. I suspect ideological shifts in academia do not depend solely on what academics argue.

Regarding 'liberalism,' I suppose Heath, like many others, highlights the hierarchy prioritising equal liberty. I also think that Rawls's second principle could justify significant socioeconomic inequality.

Salut, Michel ! Je connais ton travail, et échanger des messages avec toi me rend heureux :) I agree that Rawls is not a moral individualist, as demonstrated by his social contract theory and emphasis on societal fairness.
