26.04.2025 00:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Prime Minister of Israel @IsraeliPM PM Netanyahu: Canada has always sided with civilization. So should Mr. Carney. But instead of supporting Israel, a democracy fighting a just war with just means against the barbarians of Hamas, he attacks the only Jewish state. Mr. Carney, backtrack your irresponsible statement! 2:57 PM - April 10, 2025
Netanyahu, sought by the ICC for alleged war crimes, weighs in on Mark Carney's comments on Israel, saying it is "fighting a just war with just means."
After seemingly agreeing with a protester that Israel is committing genocide, Carney said yesterday he didn't hear the word. www.cbc.ca/1.7506027

BREAKING: The incoming president of prominent Canadian legal organization The Advocates' Society has resigned, saying the group 'abandoned' its values in cancelling Peace by Chocolate founder Tareq Hadhad's speech over concerns on his views on Gaza.
My latest: www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Tareq Hadhad came to Canada as a Syrian refugee and founded the socially conscious Peace by Chocolate, making headlines for his inspiring story.
Now a prominent legal group, The Advocates' Society, has cancelled his keynote address after concerns about his stance on Gaza. www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
Ismailis hold that the Aga Khan IV descends directly from an unbroken line of imams going back to the Prophet Muhammad.
Not since 1957, when Prince Shah Karim al-Husseini succeeded his grandfather Sultan Muhammad Shah, Aga Khan III, has the community experienced the death of a spiritual leader.
Prince Karim Aga Khan IV, the spiritual leader of Ismaili Muslims around the world, has died at 88.
It's almost impossible to grasp the enormity of this moment for the Ismaili community.

More than 4 years after Ejaz Choudry, a 62-year-old father with schizophrenia, was fatally shot in his Mississauga apartment, CBC found the officer who shot him had previously tipped a paraplegic man from his wheelchair during an arrest.

Lawyers for the police declined comment with the family's $22M lawsuit still before the courts.
With names of the officers now public, the family says they have a "small measure of accountability."

Choudry was a
62-year-old father of four who lived with schizophrenia.
He was shot within 11 seconds of police breaking down his balcony door.
Police fought to keep names of the officers hidden, citing safety risks. A judge ruled against them.
CBC was the sole media intervenor in the case.
In 2023, an anonymous tipster wrote to CBC News saying they knew the name of the police officer who killed Ejaz Choudry.
It was almost impossible to confirm.
Now we've learned the names of the five officers involved - and for one, it wasn't his first fatal encounter.

"The very prospect that justice is conceivable, that the arc of the moral universe endures, that there is a light that was always there at the end of the tunnel, if only you squinted amid the enveloping dark? I cannot quite conceive of the words."
On the enormity of this moment for Syria:
"For three years, the Broward County Sheriffβs Office produced its own crack cocaine, so it could sell it to people that deputies would then arrest for buying crack cocaine."
