What Babies Need from Congress Right Now
Boteach: Babies can’t speak for themselves, so families and early childhood advocates are demanding that Congress to invest in our youngest kids.
In my first op-ed for @zerotothree.bsky.social
I underscore that Medicaid, SNAP, and other supports for families “are lifelines that give kids a solid start, esp families who face extra hurdles.”
The Senate must reject these dangerous cuts.

Apparently it takes getting bald patches to realize I might be stressed. Hasn’t happened since the pandemic. Sigh.

Trump administration to cut billions in medical research funding
National Institutes of Health said the $4bn loss will affect ‘indirect’ funding of buildings, equipment and staff
First, they came for USAID. When Trump and Elon decide your priorities are next—cancer research, disaster relief, Social Security—what will you do? There’s a legal process for a reason. Letting them ignore it means nothing is safe.
Once gone, the Rule of Law doesn’t grow back.

“Although I inherited the worst economic crisis in decades with unemployment above 6% when I took office, we’ve had the lowest average unemployment rate of any administration in 50 years with unemployment at 4.1% as I leave,”
- President Biden
News flash: Trump had nothing to do with any of this

Bittersweet final visit. I’ll never forget how hard people worked to try to level the playing field and make life a bit easier for working families. Now we will’ll get to see how the oligarchs tackle the troubles ahead.

This is their childcare plan: raising money from voters to pay family for childcare. Doesn’t bode well for the rest of us.
Trump campaign paid JD Vance’s aunt $1,000 for “childcare services” a week after the election.

At the end of the day Donald Trump knows “the economy does better under the Democrats than the Republicans!” He said so himself.
