"Iran won't compete in Paralympics due to escalating conflict "Aboulfazl Khatibi, Iran's only athlete slated to compete in the 2026 Milan-Cortina Paralympics, won't make it to the event because he "cannot travel safely to Italy," the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) announced earlier today. The news came mere hours ahead of the opening ceremony — and just days into Israel and the U.S.'s ongoing offensive against Iran. Khatibi was originally scheduled to compete in two Para cross-country events. IPC president Andrew Parson said that his team worked with the Iranian National Paralympic Committee to find a safe way for Khatibi to make it to the Games, but "with the conflict ongoing across the Middle East, the risk to human life is too high."

Oh I agree, it is not unique to the Linux world, you see it in other areas of endeavour as well. A lot of people are just suspicious of any successes at all.

It's true. The one thing the Linux user world hates is distros being successful.

Good article and all worth saying. The only thing I would add is that a lot of the hate is because Ubuntu has done the one thing that is totally unpardonable in the Linux world: it has been a success.

Yeah there seems to be quite a number of custom-made, gourmet, high-end curated marshmallows made in Canada, but no production marshmallows at all.

Yeah we may have to go that route and make our own.

It is kind of surprising to me that every brand of marshmallows here is "made in USA". You would think we could get some from any other country! Apparently Canada does not make any production-level marshmallows at all.
