You may want to give imgp a try. I really like it for batch rotating and reducing images including making thumbnails. It is pretty fast! It is in just about all the repos, too.

Ah if you actually read The Constitution Act 1867 it is a wee bit more complex than that. Some areas are shared responsibilities, like environment.

Ah, at least on the Ubuntu forum most advice will be for graphical tools where possible as they are easier for beginners.

Personally I do quite a bit on the command line, like APT updates and installing applications as it is just faster once you know how. I also have a command line image resizer.
