it feels very strange to live in a country, and feel happy to live there, but at the same time know that everything that country does is wrong and bad, and that there is nothing you can do to make it better. serious cognitive dissonance like 24 hours a day.

i traveled to an alternate dimension, but the only difference was that snickerdoodle cookies were called "snickledoodies" and it freaked me out so much that i came back to this universe instead.

love the lego pirates and all the other 90s themes. i have so many legos but sadly they're all packed up, i just don't have the space or the time to work with them.

i'm almost embarrassed to admit that i've never seen it, although from what little i do know, i'm sure it's exactly the kind of batshit crazy movie i would love, haha. it's on tubi actually so maybe i'll check it out.

the fact that they showed blood in the final sword fight, and had the villain die onscreen with a knife in his back, shocked me as a child. that movie went so hard, haha.

reminds me of the sci-fi novel "timescape" by greg benford, which has a part where the protagonist reveals this weird new discovery in physics, and immediately has people sending him crazy letters and confronting him in public with their bizarre theories.

as far as i know there's no flooding where i live, but i drove through some of the heaviest rainfall i've ever seen in my life. i can't imagine being trapped in traffic like that with the roads totally submerged, hopefully everyone is okay.

one year, after the work christmas party, a large group of my coworkers went to the bar together. one of them got so wasted that he "got lost" on the way to the bathroom and urinated right in the hallway in full view of a dozen people and then got arrested for indecent exposure.

today is my 18th anniversary at my job, and i cannot stress how much that's total bullshit. i'm offended and appalled that i've worked there that long. my length of employment is old enough to vote. just further proof that i have utterly wasted my life.

my tower is under the desk but its on a little platform with wheels so i can easily move it out to clean or rearrange cords, it's all very convenient. i would never keep it up on top of the desk, takes up too much space.

he can also open bottles with his nostrils! that's one of my very favorite lines from a filecard, i thought that was so hilarious when i was a kid.

1) see something on the floor that looks very much like a huge bug
2) freak out and smash a box on the floor to hopefully kill it
3) spend half an hour pacing in my living room worrying there might be more of them
4) carefully move the box
5) it was just a random piece of cardboard

absolutely, i have no time to mess around, haha. also feel that way about movies and books, if i'm 30 pages into a book and it's already boring me, i move onto something else.

clearly i'm in the minority here, but i never sit that way. maybe i did when i was a kid. i'm pretty sure if i sat that way now it would immediately break my entire leg.

i know this is an old 90s game nobody remembers, but i was always fond of the spellfire card back

what's funny to me is that my brother is one of the ones who did get married and have kids, and *nobody* thought he would be the one to do that. he's even more of an introverted socially awkward weirdo than i am, haha. our cousins joke about it with me when i come to visit.

you know they had it on sale like 80% off on steam recently and i came *this* close to buying it, haha. but i knew i'd never actually have the motivation to play it.

anyway i saw a graph showing the percentage of people in their 30s who are married and own a home has dropped over 40 percent in almost as many years, and it made me think of this. for the record, i'm 45 years old, am not married, have no kids, and don't own a home either. 5/5

my grandmother kenny had 5 children, 10 grandchildren, and somehow only has 4 great-grandchildren. she's actually very upset by this, because she assumed she'd have great-grandkids all over the place. she really doesn't understand how so few of us got married and had kids. 4/5

there are only 7 children total. so to put this in perspective, my grandparents had 11 children among them, but there are only 7 great-grandchildren *total* on both sides of the family. i think about this a lot, and it's kind of hard to believe. 3/5

so the very next generation dropped from having 5 or 6 kids to only 2 or 3. i have 15 cousins, and including me and my brothers, that comes to a total of 18 people in my generation. out of those 18, only 4 are married and only 5 have kids. all of us are in our 30s at least. 2/5

just for fun, here's a little information about my extended family. my mom has 5 siblings and my dad has 4 siblings. all of them (my aunts and uncles) got married, every single one, and all but one of them had kids. however, none of them had more than 3 kids. 1/5
