Murder!Hazza runs for office. He's hot, rich, articulate, young, generous -- he's a shoe-in to win. So Detective ACD returns to the scene of the original crime, spurred by guilt and determined not to let a charming serial killer get elected.
Or anyway, that's why he SAYS he's come back...
Like, ACD doesn't even WANT to arrest him. Much. All the victims were horrible people too rich to have been made to pay for their horrible deeds otherwise. Henry's almost performing a public service.
ACD and Murder!Haz have one electric night together. ACD is overcome with guilt. Flees. But then...
ACD knows Henry done it. Henry knows he knows. But ACD can't prove a thing -- except that he's desperately attracted to this posh, infuriating hottie. Who is now super confident, super fly, living the good life while giving away Mary's misbegotten millions to good causes....

Like, like, like....ok at first Henry is this shy and retiring oppressed little flower, but then after some horrific fight he offs Mary and....nothing bad happens. In fact, his life improves immeasurably.
Suddenly he's got a little confidence, a little swagger. So he does it again....
Imaginging a fic wherein Henry is a criminal who keeps literally getting away with murder, Alex is the detective who knows he's guilty but can't prove it & falls for the guy anyway...
