The #Mariners' Josh Naylor provided a nice moment Tuesday by greeting history-making umpire Jen Pawol before stepping into the box.

Circumstances are horrendous, but this is a really cool story about the historian-led grassroots effort to document the administration’s whitewashing of history. 🗃️
An elite hitter and 9-time All-Star in the Negro Leagues, Wild Bill Wright found even greater success in Mexico. He won the Triple Crown and cemented his legacy as a Hall of Famer south of the border.
Ffs. It’s getting time to move.
As a Latin American baseball researcher, I probably don’t talk about Cristóbal Torriente because he *is* in the Hall of Fame. But that doesn’t mean he’s well known, and he absolutely should be. Between Cuba and the Negro Leagues, a .341/.427/.503 line (172 OPS+) i 5,139 recorded at-bats. Good grief.
This one is for a REAL need and imma hopeful that an auto company gonna step up. KELLY PANNEK from the women’s hockey team got hits by someone who totaled her car. She needs a new car.
Lots of brands commenting that they want to help,, but few truly stepping up. Who can help,??
That’s great. Joe was such a nice guy when I met him.

Willie “Pops" Stargell played 21 seasons with the Pirates and is the club’s all-time leader in home runs (475), RBI (1,540) and extra-base hits (953). A seven-time All-Star, World Champion in 1971 and 1979, N.L. MVP in 1979, Willie was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1988.
Hall of Famer Willard Brown was one of the first Black players in American League history.
He later became one of the greatest baseball players ever to play in Puerto Rico, earning him the nickname "Ese Hombre" or "That Man."
You best believe I’ll repost a Fred Rogers mention.
Orestes “Minnie” Miñoso is everything I love about baseball.
Congrats 🙌🏻
New SABR biography just posted on Spotswood Poles, a Negro Leagues great with a memorable name and an even more fascinating story: sabr.org/bioproj/pers...
YouTube, man. Here is home video footage of Roberto Clemente just weeks before his death (Nov 22, 1972). He was actually in Nicaragua managing Puerto Rico in the Amateur World Series. The footage was taken by Norbert Jaeger, a member of the German team. www.youtube.com/watch?v=RerR...
Few players matched Minnie Miñoso’s blend of consistency, power, and speed. His career numbers—more than 4,500 hits, 400 home runs, and 400 stolen bases—across the U.S. and Latin America tell the story of a true all-time great.
In his age-33 season, Sam Jethroe won NL Rookie of the Year and took the league by storm with speed, gap power, and a 150 OPS+
Finished this today. While a podcast this long can seem daunting, it’s a gift to get this much out of the interviews. Dan does an awesome job. 👏

That’s great! That’s exactly where I used him the other day. 🙌🏻
A lot of attention is paid to Cool Papa’s speed… but I might be giving away some of my go-to Immaculate Grid deep cuts here.
