You might enjoy E.T.A. Hoffman. I recommend the Dover collection The Best Tales of Hoffman. Some stories have horror elements but they're all fun. Angela Carter's The Infernal Desire Machines of Doctor Hoffman was partly inspired by his work.

haha I try to keep all the books by a certain artist/author together, but this is my technique too. On some shelves I've created rolling hills or sharp cliffs for visual interest. Throw in some curveballs based on spine color here and there. 🎶 KOO KOO 🎶
