Notably, the Chancellor of the U of Nebraska-Lincoln has an EdD in Educational Administration. By cutting the only higher ed doctoral program in the state, he would essentially eliminate the opportunity for students to obtain the degree that qualified him for his leadership position. Devastating.

When educators say that educational leadership preparation within a university is expendable, we are in a scary place. This is about my department, my university and is cause for alarm for educators everywhere. If they cut the only ed leadership PhD program in our state, whose will be next? (1/2)

Republicans voted to allow ICE to cancel student visas with no due process. This would have an incredibly chilling effect (compounding on previous actions) on future international students pursuing education in the U.S. Our institutions DEPEND on those students’ tuition & fees dollars.

Most often when we refer to “diversity, equity, and inclusion” what we are really talking about is civil rights efforts. Folks should really start using this language instead —it’s not about cutting “DEI” this is about cutting civil rights progress and protections.
