Heya Historical Game Studies folks #gamingthepast. I know this is repetitive & shamelessly self-promoting, bt I keep seeing signs people are reading abt historical problem spaces up to 2020 article, when 2024 article is a major update + case study of how mechanics shape game history. Just sayin ...

Really pleased to be part of this year’s lineup.

My workshop examines gen AI in humanities pedagogy, moving past enthusiasm or bans toward ethical & critical practice.

Participants leave with an AI policy & redesigned assignments. If you’re navigating AI in your teaching, hope to see you there!

Why do I have to pretend that I'm going to print something in order to save it as a PDF. Why do I have to engage in a little ruse.

Seeing Trump and Kash Patel interact with the men’s hockey team is a solid example of how misogyny functions as a male bonding ritual. Patel is clearly trying to impress the athletes and Trump, Trump is trying to impress the athletes, and the athletes are trying to impress the president

Reading people. Body language. Knowing how to connect with people totally unlike you and with different backgrounds and beliefs. Defusing tense situations. Gaining trust. High endurance, pain tolerance, and work ethic. Reaction time. Prioritizing order of execution. Anticipating people’s needs. Tons

DH Awards 2025 – Call For Nominations There are translations of this page available in Chinese (Traditional and Simplified), French, Japanese, Portuguese and Spanish (from the menu above). The annual open **DH Awards 2025** is now accepting nominations! Please nominate any Digital Humanities resource in any language that you feel deserves to win in any of this year’s categories. The open DH Awards are openly nominated by the community and openly voted for by the public as a DH awareness activity. Although the working language of DH Awards is English, nominations may be for any resource in any language. Awards are not specific to geography, language, conference, organization or field of humanities. There are no financial prizes, just the honour of having won and an icon for your website. Nominations will be open until **2026-02-27**. Voting will take place shortly after. You only need to nominate something once! Self-nominations or nominating other’s resources are both fine! **Please note that the nominations must be for projects/resources/sites that were launched/finished/update/created in 2025**. The categories for the open **DH Awards 2025** are: * **BEST USE OF DH FOR FUN** (e.g. something that uses DH for purposes of enjoyment) * **BEST DH DATA VISUALIZATION** (e.g. a visualization of DH data) * **BEST EXPLORATION OF DH FAILURE/LIMITATIONS** (e.g. a report on why a project failed, or problems with DH) * **BEST DH SHORT PUBLICATION** (e.g. blog, article, video, on DH) * **BEST DH TOOL OR SUITE OF TOOLS** (e.g. something used to build a DH resource) * **BEST DH DATASET OR MODEL** (e.g. a corpus of texts, table of data, model, or similar used for DH research) * **BEST DH TRAINING MATERIALS** (e.g. talks, slides, exercises, videos or how-to guides in any form) * **BEST DH RESOURCE** (e.g. digital scholarly edition, archive, or repository for DH) To nominate something for the DH Awards 2025 use the form at: ## **NOMINATE SOMETHING HERE**

7 days left to nominate something for the #dhawards! My favourite categories are always 'dh for fun' and 'dh failure' http://dhawards.org/dhawards2025/nominations/

Gender studies courses are shutting down across the US. The Epstein files reveal why | Joan Wallach Scott Texas A&M University is the latest school to end women’s and gender studies programs and teaching race. We know why

Eliminating gender studies courses helps to ensure that universities and other institutions will continue to protect men who benefit from the abuse of women and girls, either directly or through their connections to those who exploit girls and women for profit.

Not enough. Every single ICE and CBP agent should be out of Minnesota. The terror campaign must stop.

ICE must be abolished.

ICE killing #AlexPretti should remind you of police killing #PhilandoCastille. Both men had concealed weapon permits, did not draw their guns, & were killed in Minn. These homicides are the price of unaccountable policing. These deaths are variations on the same fatal theme.
