Some wip of the pieces I did for Small Wonders 14 at @archenememyarts. I tried new things for these. I did some engraving in the wood. I tried 3-4 tools before getting an engraving pen. Then I put imitation gold leaf in the background. The finish wasn’t great so I eventually painted the background.

But then another bad news dropped. And another one. So that’s enough, here’s some plants from my garden to distract you from the world for a moment.

I realized the current state of the world is affecting me more than I would. And I’m certainly not the only one. For the past couple of weeks, I wanted to share things about plants and art but there was always a real bad news happening and I felt like I had to wait a little bit.

I've made a small plant purge. I gave my pink princess and philo squamiferum florida. I realized that I don't want to start moss pole. They look so high maintenance and I’m kinda lazy so… Good riddance!

I promised to myself : No more orchids! But then I saw this one at the store! I was looking for that gorgeous patterned leaf orchid in my collection so I had to have it! And it’s smell amazing! I’m so addicted to that smell.

I realize I've been away for a while. I’m currently on a painting spree, working on 6 paintings in the same time. I always forget to take pictures and videos but I got a couple nonetheless. I've got sick, a small thrips infestation and my computer crashed. That sums pretty much the past month.

Most artists find this part very satisfying. I’m not. I’m just stressed that dust got stuck in it and it always happen no matter what I do! And I always apply 3 layers!

Repotted my calathea makoyana and there was a bit too much rhizomes so I'm trying to propagate them. One with perlite and one in soil. Let's see if it'll work.

When I repotted my big Black velvet last April, I got 10 corms which 9 grew and put them in perlite.
And now 3 month later they are doing great!

Closer look of the 4 O’Clock. Not my usual palette, I’m more a pink flower girl. Mirabilis comes in many colors but I was very inspired by the broken variety. I loved the unusual pattern!

Since I put it in water, I’m wondering about this plant. After I saw a picture of caladium, I saw how both look the same. Well guess what? Alocasia hilo beauty is in fact a Caladium! To be more precise it’s a Caladium praetermissum and wrongfully marketed as an Alocasia!
