Dense masses of low rain clouds, starting from the north-west, were carried along at the same time partly in a south and partly in a south-east direction.

31 October 1880: THE WEATHER A storm of wind and rain of unusual violence suddenly commenced in Cullen at 3.30pm. The wind, which was at first westerly, in about an hour afterwards veered round to almost north.

The next stage of engagement is the upcoming themed Online Focus Groups, taking place during the first week of November. These will build on the seven workshop discussions and provide a cross-cutting perspective, exploring tourism priorities and opportunities across Moray in greater depth.

The Moray Tourism Strategy development work by SCOTO is well underway with the next stage of engagement about to start.

Seven area-based workshops have been held providing invaluable insights into local geographic issues and opportunities.

The work has involved the use of highly-skilled tradesmen, and most of the exterior renovation is almost complete. The emphasis will now shift inside the building, which has been converted to seven luxury flats, but at the moment it is not possible to estimate when the restoration will be complete.

29 October 1988: REPAIR WORK Restoration and repair work to Cullen House, ravaged by fire last year, is now forging ahead. The historic building has been made wind- and water-tight, and much of the decorative work has also been completed on the windows.

A morning walk around Cullen was the perfect way to start our day, and we weren't the only ones out and about. We saw walkers and runners, cyclists and four-legged friends.

28 October 1882: CAPTURE OF A RARE FISH Two days ago, Mr George Findlay ( "Beaner") Seatown, Cullen, caught upon his line a fine specimen of the rainbow rawse, a fish that is very rarely to be found on the coast. It is native to the Mediterranean.
