I loved that you could see the influence of West Side Story all over it, but aside from the gang/turf aspect, The Outsiders couldn't be more different.

In act two, there's the duet for Ponyboy & Johnny, and then one for Daryl & Sodapop. Seeing guys be that vulnerable with each other, without turning it into a gag, was practically revolutionary (I'm also the youngest of three boys, so it hit hard).
