27.09.2025 00:28 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0The trailer for A Big Bold Beautiful Journey has a brief shot that is clearly Colin Farrell starring in his high school's production of How to Succeed... Is that enough for me?
27.09.2025 00:19 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0You know you're in pretty deep when you notice that a musical theater historian has hyphenated his name and you're genuinely happy they got married. This person you've never met. Whose books you own (but haven't read shhhhh)
19.09.2025 01:53 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Question 1: what is his characters name in The Way We Were and where the fuck did it come from?
Or
Who shot Roy Hobbs, Kim Basinger or Barbara Hershey?
So... a gymja?
(I apologize for nothing)
*I don't remember his character's name, just that he was played by Leonard Roberts, who I knew from scho... I mean conservatory.

is what I said to my new psychiatrist, at our first in-person appointment
Also he said i was a goofy guy, which is like Leonard* calling Riley for saying Buffy was "peculiar."
In tribute to Robert Redford, tomorrow is a national holiday. But you'll have to pass a quiz on The Way We Were or The
Natural if you want to get paid.
Album cover of the 1954 Broadway revival cast album of the Richard Rodgers & Lorenz Hart musical On Your Toes
Album cover of the 1954 original London cast album of the Cole Porter musical Can-Can
Album cover of the 1956 Copenhagen cast album for the Irving Berlin musical Call Me Madam
Album cover of an instrumental recording of songs from the musical Kismet, the jazz ensemble Mastersounds
Today's work music. I could only recognize "Baubles, Bangles, and Beads" on the Mastersounds Kismet album. But I'm to hep to care.

Highly suggest Keira Andrews. Kidnapped by the Pirate (read 4x) and The Station are great.

15.09.2025 00:39 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0- It's great to see Jourdan and Chevalier together again. Can-Can was clearly greenlit to cash in on the success of Gigi and wears it like a badge!
- The movie is gorgeous, the songs are wonderful, the leads are mostly great. But it's ultimately a snoozefest
trying to take a picture of Sinatra and les femmes, but one of them moves slightly and the picture is ruined. The same photographer somehow takes a picture of the girls, while they're dancing.
- In the climax, they dance the can-can, but don't sing the damn title song! I love those lyrics!!!
to Shirley MacLaine (as Pistache).
- I love it when the two men (Sinatra and Louis Jourdan) in a love triangle have palpable sexual tension.
- Pistache uses the word "collateral" in a scene, but doesn't know what it means at the end. How suspiciously Stepford of them.
- There's a photographer
Can-Can has been my show of the moment. I even got the '68 Vienna cast, despite my love of Porter's lyrics. (They interpolated "Don't Fence Me In." It's magic.) Would it have killed them to add one line making Sinatra an expat?
They cast Juliet Prowse as Claudine and naturally gave her big solos
One of our very best musical actors. She played Margaret White as a mother above all else in Carrie. Making her as believable as the show allows. And her vocals were naturally stunning
