How did you figure out what you wanted to do with/from life? I’ve been trying to help a friend who’s got good things going on job wise but they have no greater purpose beyond it & hobbies.

So far I’ve asked them what gives them energy and what they would want people to say about them after death.

I've got a bone to pick with anyone who thinks otherwise. 206 bones to be exact.

I'm not saying nobody should be considered a visionary, as everyone has faults. But we should be realistic in our hero's short comings and not whitewash who they left out, hurt, or other negative effects they did on the world. Humanizing people is the best way to remember them by.

I read an argument recently that said "nobody holds this persons competitors up to the same level of scrutiny as them." That's because their competitors and peers aren't considered great, so why should the public give them an extra level of attention to their accomplishments to find flaws?

If people are considered great at their job function but still did messed up things that other competitors were also doing, maybe they weren't that great to begin with or shouldn't be considered great. Narrowing down the list of people considered a role model/visionary is rarely a bad thing.

There was almost a massive conflict between two countries in how they made a dish containing bread and butter. There's a really great book that documents it called Butter Battle by Theodor Geisel. Highly recommended, great read.

Other than that holy crap my feet hurt avg of 17000 steps a day since last Wednesday. My usually avg is like 4K 😅.

PAX was fun. Third year enforcing (working the show). If you came up to cozy gaming in the AM you saw me! Only went to one panel: about game preservation and there were tons of parallels about it and design, and really enjoyed learning about what the speaker was working on. Will post about it soon!

To clarify:
1) "protect/save the kids" is almost always a cover up for some other bullshit.
2) The people who wrote this bill don't understand/care what the ramifications of what it means to store that data for companies or users are.
