The Xposure 2025 festival starts in 37 days. I'm indebted to two friends who encouraged me to exhibit my gorilla photographs.

I hope to see you in Sharjah – but if not, my photographs at xposure.net/exhibitions-.... All the proceeds go to benefit Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund.

Wish me luck!

Today is International Monkey Day!

Did you know that Hanuman langurs practice "alloparenting," where females other than the biological mother help care for and protect infants?

I was in the jungles of Central India photographing tigers — they lounge around in bushes instead of in the open like lions, making it hard to get clear images without shrubbery in their faces.

Follow along for more photographs of this incredible journey.

Barasingha (Hindi for 12 horned) are a unique species of swamp deer that were once distributed all over north and central India, but are now confined to pockets. They feed on marsh reeds, so as the swamps are drained, there's a habitat loss.

Named after Lord Hanuman from Hindu mythology, these langurs are incredibly adaptable, living in a variety of habitats, including forests, grasslands, and even urban areas. They have such expressive faces!

As a humanitarian worker, I've been in a lot of conflict situations and really value the peace that nature offers. As a photographer, one who photographs megafauna, it's hard to gloss over the conflict in the animal world between predator and prey. So, I focus on animals at rest or play.

A few years ago, I was really lucky to go on a tiger safari in Kabini, in southern India. I got this tigress, Kismet framed by the stalks of flowering Eupetorium

Thank you. Sometimes, when I feel moody, I look at this picture and try to imagine what the elephant is feeling.

One of the things that I so appreciate about Amboseli, is just the clouds and the skies. I always feel like they paint such a moody picture — despite the magnificent elephant standing right there! Let me know what you think.

This is my current mood as we head into the Thanksgiving weekend. I feel like the to do list is endless...

This bear threw out his to-do list! He was relaxing on a snowbank when we came across him. They're in Churchill for a few weeks before they head off to find more food for the winter.

And I’m a wildlife photographer asking for the same! I promise good pictures of large beasts.

In Churchill Canada, there’s a “polar bear jail” — where bears that frequently come into town and cause problems are put in the jail, until they can be safe safely released in another area far away from town.

This is Craig. He’s probably the most famous elephant in the world, and is one of the few remaining supertusker in the Amboseli ecosystem. Follow me as I post more images of the world’s megafauna — we need to protect these magnificent creatures.

This is one of my all time favorite photographs. This lion’s name is Kipunji and heads a pride on the banks of the Mwagusi River in Ruaha National Park in southern Tanzania. He had just finished a morning of lovemaking when he fixed his gaze on me. I was in a safari truck about 10 feet away!
