Atsumu feels his heart rate pick up. Oh, he has a few ideas.

Ya made the naughty list this year with all this deception.”

Kiyoomi’s eyes follow a stray water drop that drips from his hair down his torso. “Hmm,” he says as his hands follow the path and his fingers dig under the towel, “Does this mean you’re going to punish me?

And when he does, it’s the perfect time to begin his apprenticeship as a cartographer and starts the exploration of his mouth.

Minutes later, when they come up for air, Atsumu whispers into space between them, “Ya know what this means right?

“Well Omi, yer in luck, cuz I like ya too. How bout we skip the mistletoe and get right to the kissin’?”

Kiyoomi looks back at Atsumu and his pupils dilate. Atsumu places one hand on his hip and hauls him closer. This time when they kiss, Atsumu realizes that Kiyoomi does in fact gasp.

Cuz darlin, there’s bout a million better ways of doin’ so.”

Kiyoomi’s cheeks pink and he looks away. His voice is small when he mutters, “If it wasn’t clear already, yes I like you.”

Atsumu feels his face break into a grin and he steps up closer to Kiyoomi.

Somehow, Kiyoomi has been carrying around foliage in his pocket for the last three weeks, and Atsumu is still the idiot. Funny how that works out.

“Is this yer way of tellin’ me ya like me?

from his bag and places it on the locker in between them. “It’s me, alright?! I’ve been fucking put all these goddamn plants up and you’re an idiot. So just reject me – because apparently it has to be a joke for us to kiss – so that I can move on.” He is breathing heavily in the space between them

Damn, just when he thought he was on the up-and-up. “Well, no,” Atsumu says diplomatically, “More like someone’s playin’ a prank on us and I wanna figure out who. I mean, aren’t ya annoyed ya gotta keep kissin’ me when ya don’t like germs and such?”

Kiyoomi groans and pulls out something green

Someone’s up ta no good and I’m tryna figure out who’s on the naughty list.”

But to his surprise, Kiyoomi’s face pinches further, “Why? Because it’s been so bad to kiss me? You seem to have no problem when it’s any other person you pass on the street.”

And Atsumu’s confused again.

I’m just tryna get ta the bottom of the whole mistletoe fiasco,” He says with a grin, trying to assuage Kiyoomi’ nerves. “I mean, ya’ve gotta have noticed that somethin’s up, no? No chance that we just so happened to be under a mistletoe four different times.

He looks impassive but with a jolt Atsumu realizes that he can tell that there is some anxiety in the purse of his lips and the pinch in his nose.

“Nah Omi-kun, I didn’t mean ta avoid ya.

He comes out of the shower whistling a tune and knotting up his towel around his waist as Kiyoomi comes into his periphery.

“You’ve been avoiding me,” he says with all the tact and nuance of a freight train.

That being said, there also hasn’t been another incident since so he’d say he’s hot on their trails.

It’s Friday evening and he’s alone in the locker room for the first time since the water fountain incident.

Really he’s been very good about hiding it if he says so himself.

His money is on Hinata or Inunaki, the little devils. They are both just cheeky enough to meddle in things like this. But the end of the week rolls around and he’s none the wiser.

For the next week, he sticks like glue to the other members of the team and is hyper cognizant of his surroundings. He wants to know which of his team members is up to this little match making scheme and how they figured out his teeny tiny crush.
