Recognising and depowering toxic leaders

The NHS is hopeless at identifying and dealing with toxic leaders, but this is a core skill of a good manager. Even with dealing with toxic people further up the food chain.

Another lovely day in the Lake District. Started early with a cold plunge under some waterfalls near Glenridding. Then, we spent the afternoon walking up Glenridding Dodd, Sheffield Pike & Hart Crag in the sunshine 🌞 ☀️. (Wainwrights 108, 109 & 110). Awesome day!

An afternoon of climbing up Wainwright's (#105, 106 & 107). Caught the Ullswater Steamer from Pooley Bridge to Howtown and walked back over Hallin Fell, Bonscale Pike and Arthur's Pike.

Private social media message reading: "So far this week, one day my child got harassed and humiliated in school changing rooms. Another day her English lesson covered the debate over trans rights where she listened to ignorant class mates outline how trans women can make women uncomfortable, and came home asking whether they have a point and whether her existence actually is a big problem (she hadn't heard that transphobic argument before). She didn't feel able to speak at all in that debate lesson. She came home in tears both days. What a spectacularly shit country we have."

Oh I meant to say if you go with someone else who is also scared of heights then it helps as you don't feel too slow going across.

Had a fine day "running"/walking a leg of the Paddy Buckley round, starting in Llanberis, heading up the quarries & going up Elidir Fach, Fawr, Mynydd Perfydd, Foel Goch, Y Garn, Glyder Fawr, Fach and Tryfan.

The right is more steep than the left. Advice is to stick to the very top. A lot of people walk on the left below the ridge and use the top as a handrail. But there is scree on the sides so it's less stable. Best advice is to look ahead and go steadily. Good luck!

I am not great with heights. I've crossed Crib Goch twice, once via Pen Y Pass and the other climbing up from the road on a North to S 3000s. The scramble is worse than the ridge. So make sure you have got a good description of the easiest route up. The ridge traverse looks worse than it is.
