I’m honest. Not sure you are. The CR is fairly clean. Current funding levels plus $1billion for DC & money for members security. There are probably the usual anomalies. Democrats want money for ACA tax credits & repeal of some provisions of the so called OBBB. Shutdown coming. One side will blink.

You’re right. There are too many echo chambers in this country, empowering the extremes and impeding serious debate on any number of major policy questions.

News Alert: Nippon Steel now owns 100% of US Steel, paying $14.1 billion. The company will also retain its name and Pittsburgh headquarters. This is a good deal for steelmaking in the USA. I have been critical of Trump on tariffs/Ukraine/NATO, but he was right to reverse Biden’s misguided decision.

I believe what he is doing is unethical and violates the emollient clause of the constitution. What’s your problem?

Ag Sec Rollins said on CNN @Jaketapper today that the US exports no corn to Mexico & no dairy to Canada. Wrong on both counts. In 2024, we exported $5.6 billion of corn to Mexico and $1 billion of dairy to Canada. After Mexico & Canada retaliate, the Secretary could be right.🤦‍♂️

Opinion | I was in the House for many government funding fights. Chuck Schumer did the right thing. Schumer understood things could get much worse for federal employees and congressional Democrats during a shutdown.

Let me be clear: The CR was a bad outcome; a shutdown would have been worse. That was Schumer’s choice. What’s ignorant is shutting down the government without a plan on how or when to reopen it. If you think DOGE is a problem now, watch them run wild on the federal bureaucracy during a shutdown

Trump’s detestable comments regarding Zelensky willfully ignore the sacrifices of the Greatest Generation who bequeathed to us a world without great power conflict for 8 decades.
