The context is that they want to see matches in which they can root for someone to win, not that matches that are good are bad, which is clear if you read the article instead of one quote. This is something that Brody King being anti-ICE fixes, it makes you desperately want to see him win.

They call it a "right-wing company", they call its TV shows "self-conciously sanitized and corporate-friendly", and they compare it (very negatively) to the MCU of wrestling for being bland, lifeless, and artless.

In both articles they say they say uniformly negative things about WWE. Are you saying they're hiding that they're a WWE fan?

They also call Tony Khan a nepo baby in the current article as well, so they're consistent there.

Honestly the article seems like it doesn't come from a place of grifting, and if anything, the specific complaints from this article seem like they've changed to some extent in 2026 AEW. I don't really see an issue with this person based on the articles, honestly.

IIRC this is both pre-Trump and pre-AEW, so some of the WWE viewers who didn't previously vote may have become the voters who only vote for Trump, and some of the more left-leaning fans may have left for AEW or stopped watching WWE because of the MAGA ties.
