Albanese straight off the mark with the display of fealty to the Israeli/US terror regimes that are currently bombing and killing 'the brave people of Iran' he claims to support. Disgraceful stuff.

The Socialist Party condemns the Israeli and US attack on Iran. This is part of a broader project of US imperialism and Israeli aggression in the region.

If only we had a prime minister who was as 'difficult' as Grace Tame instead of a spineless hack who has sacrificed any semblance of political principle he may once have had in order to prove himself a loyal servant of Australia's ruling class and Israeli and US interests abroad.

Yet, the rich have rapidly increased their wealth at our expense. Property developers are given free rein to make huge profits as they throw up new homes without a thought to adequate services.

Leanna writes: "I’ve seen first hand how our community has been deprived of basic public services. We’re in the middle of a generational cost of living crisis. Working-class people have to struggle to put food on the table and keep a roof over our heads.

Leanna is a St Albans local who has lived in the area her whole life. She's been involved in numerous community campaigns in Melbourne's western suburbs, including successfully shutting down a neo-Nazi recruitment gym in Sunshine.

Cutting the tens of millions going to Australia's wealthiest private schools, and using them to improve facilities and boost teacher pay and conditions in public schools, is an absolute no brainer for a halfway decent society. Unfortunately that's not what Labor believes in these days.

"I’m running in this election because I want to shake up the system and flip it the other way round and put people first, not profit."

"There’s a lack of quality, affordable public childcare. Instead we’re given expensive, privately run centres that pay staff slave wages. We need more public hospitals, housing and schools, not prisons.

"They tell us that migrants are to blame for the housing crisis, when it’s actually the banks and developers making record profits out of a rigged property market.

Van writes: "The rich continue to get richer, while many at the bottom see their incomes fall. Meanwhile, politicians do nothing to stop this growing inequality.

Van is a Sunshine local who has lived in Melbourne's western suburbs for more than 20 years. He's a public school maintenance worker and member of the the Australian Education Union. He's also a street artist and political cartoonist.
