It was an honor to join Supervisor Hilda Solis and the members of the El Monte City Council to announce the start of El Monte Cares. El Monte Cares offers food support, legal counsel, senior services, mental health support, and other necessary resources to residents of El Monte. #persist26 #lacdp

Funding the National Guard and the Marines in LA is now estimated to cost $134 million (Politico). Trump's cuts to public safety have taken $646 million in funding from FEMA, for violence and terrorism prevention.

This morning, I sent a letter to the Office of Government Ethics (OGE) regarding Elon Musk’s potential conflicts of interest.

Within minutes, the White House confirmed receipt.

By noon, President Trump fired the Director of OGE.

I want to know: Was this to prevent his answer?

Any claims about California taking more than its fair share of FEMA aid are blatantly FALSE. California has had the most natural disasters of any state in the last ten years, and still is only fifth on the list of FEMA aid recipients.

On this day in history, the 15th Amendment was ratified, which prohibited the denial of the right to vote based on race and paved the way for a more inclusive democracy. Let’s continue to fight for equal rights, representation, and justice for all.

Wind gusts exceeding 100 miles per hour made the fire's behavior unpredictable and chaotic.
