Manzanar Committee is seeking volunteers for the 57th Annual Manzanar Pilgrimage on Saturday April 25th.

Volunteers are needed to support passing out water, directing parking, and setting up tents and chairs. All are welcome and no experience necessary.

The 57th Annual Manzanar Pilgrimage is scheduled for Saturday, April 25, 2026 at noon at the Manzanar National Historic Site. The theme for 2026 is Lessons from Manzanar: Vigilance is the Price of Democracy.

The Manzanar Committee mourns the loss of Art Hansen, Emeritus Professor of History and Asian American Studies at California State University, Fullerton (CSUF). He authored numerous books, was a keynote speaker at annual pilgrimages and was honored with the Sue Kunitomi Embrery Legacy Award in 2014.

California passes bill curbing utilities use of ratepayer money for political spending State lawmakers last week made California the seventh state to pass a bill limiting investor-owned utilities from using customer money to pay for political and lobbying costs.

Here’s how it works. The bill would:

1) Stop utilities from baking the money they spend on political influence into rates;

2) Establish new transparency reforms to ensure they follow the law;

3.) Mandate penalties if they break the rules.
