Honestly. It’s every single journey with them now. It was always a running joke but now it’s just completely unrealistic to rely on their timetable.

I’ve been on planes, coaches, cars, and other trains today but as soon as I step on a DB train there are delays.

I’ll freely admit I’m pretty flaithiúlach with money when it comes to travel, but even I struggle to see paying for business class on European flights.

I’ll be in the air for like 90 minutes. I’m not paying 3x the cost for an empty seat beside me. That’s the only benefit.

My current “main” game I’m playing to platinum is Cities: Skylines. It’s a beast to platinum so when I play these kinds of games, I usually play shorter ones alongside it to keep momentum and to give myself a break from the monotony of the bigger/more complicated game.

Straightforward, but I’m just not vibing with it. Don’t thing I vibed with Gris either but hey, free games, so I won’t look a gift horse in the mouth.

I’ll platinum it over the weekend and move on.

I guess the release of that Neva prologue means I have to finally play Neva.

Gris was fine. Parts were incredibly frustrating for me as I don’t have the quickest reaction time. Hopefully Neva is more straightforward.

Despite completely over-indulging in Paris, I’ve essentially maintained/lost a teeny weeny bit of weight since last check-in which I count as a win.

I also feel like I’ve probably lost more than the scale is telling me as I felt quite bloated this morning.

This shall be a long journey.

I’m still shocked over Malinin. What rotten luck. Shows that overconfidence is as much as a mental barrier as a lack of confidence.

But for perspective, all three Eurovision shows drew 166m in 2025, 163m in 2024, 162m in 2023, 161m in 2022 and 183m in 2021.

The fact I can get up and walk around even and bring as much luggage as I want or need also helps. It was also cheaper than a flight.

7 hours though. My back is killing me and parts of my body I didn’t know exist have gone numb.

So we decided to take the train to Paris and back (about 7 hours each way with 1 change in Halle) rather than flying (which would involve a train to Berlin and then a flight).

Still not entirely sure if it’s worth it yet but I prefer train to plane in general. I like not feeling like cattle.

I wouldn’t say I’ve fallen in love with Paris but it’s certainly captured my attention.

I can see myself coming back again and again.

I’ve been in Paris since Friday and I’m convinced I’ve put back on all the weight I’ve lost this year so far.

Worth it though? Probably. The food is just too good. French food is my weakness.

Paris this weekend and Dublin end of February and then mid-March.

Might try and do a weekend in London at some point before we do Malta in August.

Then squeeze something in before Christmas. Maybe Bergen or Copenhagen or something.

Travel while I’m young. 33/34 is young, right?
