Hey here's a topic- Where should we go in Maine in the summer, mostly for photography of places and wildlife and old stuff? Off beaten path (remote or otherwise) always best but playing the hits is great too. I take photos like this:

In the last decade, the Atlantic has not platformed a single trans person to speak about issues affecting them or the broader trans community. Not a single one. Yet, they have monthly screeds by Helen Lewis and endless money to pay random transphobic grifters to pump stuff like this out.

Calling AI "slop" has been one of the most effective instances of the public rebranding a product and it pisses them off.

This is genuinely insane, I clicked to see the years expecting the low part to be 70s or maybe 90s but its 2015!!!!! The entire anti trans panic is a decade old

i really can not emphasize enough that the most materially impactful thing you can do for trans people right now is hire them.

the party that wants to require ID to vote abruptly invalidating a thousand people’s IDs overnight seems like a pretty giant flashing red light

The only good news right now is that this regime is going after SO many categories of people β€” women, POC, trans folks, immigrants, kids, Medicaid recipients, biz owners, federal workers, people trying to afford groceries, would-be voters β€” that there are a LOT of folks to lock arms with

People do what you pay them to do.
You pay corporate executives to make stock prices go up, not to make better products.
You pay politicians to get re-elected, not to govern well.
You pay reporters to get a bigger audience, not to tell the truth.
And so forth.
Be aware of what you pay people to do

It’s not just Medicaid funding they’re withholding to MN. It’s food assistance, child care assistance, social services, job training, safety testing, public health, disaster relief. SNAP. Free lunch for kids in school.

They hate us for loving our neighbors, and are collectively punishing us for it.

Fact Check: Jesse Singal Lies About Trans Care At The New York Times The New York Times spreads misinformation about transgender people yet again.

1. The New York Times, unsurprisingly, has released yet another hit piece on transgender people.

This time, it comes from Jesse Singal.

I fact check it in my latest piece.

About a quarter of all trans people in this country have moved states in possibly the largest internal migration of a particular minority group since the great migration. This is a full blown crisis.

It's got to incense them that any time someone searches for Jesse Singal's name or article, they'll get my fact check just under it.

Thank you for helping me do what I do, folks.

Never forget that the primary tactic of this movement is distraction. They point to medical statements, procedural wins and tangentially related anecdotes because *they have no evidence of their core claim*

If lots of kids were transitioning without assessment they would be talking about that.

Tracking how much of Project 2025 the Trump administration achieved this year As the year ends, The 19th takes a look at how the conservative policy wishlist for President Donald Trump’s second term affected women and LGBTQ+ Americans.

As the year draws to a close, a crowd-sourced effort, as well as trackers from advocacy organizations and labor unions, show that the Trump administration has implemented roughly half of the goals laid out in Project 2025.

Merry Christmas.

Trickle-down economics is a cruel hoax designed to enrich the wealthy and corporations while draining money for the middle class and the poor.

Pass it on to a conservative family member near you.

News Team,
Thank you for the notes and texts. I apologize for not reaching out earlier.
I learned on Saturday that Bari Weiss spiked our story, INSIDE CECOT, which was supposed to air tonight. We (Ori and I) asked for a call to discuss her decision. She did not afford us that courtesy/opportunity.
Our story was screened five times and cleared by both CBS attorneys and Standards and Practices. It is factually correct. In my view, pulling it now-after every rigorous internal check has been met is not an editorial decision, it is a political one.
We requested responses to questions and/or interviews with DHS, the White House, and the State Department. Government silence is a statement, not a VETO. Their refusal to be interviewed is a tactical maneuver designed
to kill the story.

Their refusal to be interviewed is a tactical maneuver designed to kill the story. If the administration's refusal to participate becomes a valid reason to spike a story, we

have effectively handed them a "kill switch" for any reporting they find inconvenient.
If the standard for airing a story becomes
"the government must agree to be
interviewed," then the government effectively gains control over the 60 Minutes broadcast.
We go from an investigative powerhouse to a stenographer for the state.
These men risked their lives to speak with us.
We have a moral and professional obligation to the sources who entrusted us with their
stories. Abandoning them now is a betrayal of the most basic tenet of journalism: giving voice to the voiceless.
CBS spiked the Jeffrey Wigand interview due to legal concerns, nearly destroying the credibility of this broadcast. It took years to recover from that "low point." By pulling this story to shield an administration, we are repeating that history, but for political optics rather than legal ones.

We have been promoting this story on social media for days. Our viewers are expecting it.
When it fails to air without a credible
explanation, the public will correctly identify this as corporate censorship. We are trading 50 years of "Gold Standard" reputation for a single week of political quiet.
I care too much about this broadcast to watch
it be dismantled without a fight.

A paragraph of text from a news article discussing medical interventions for minors. The text reads: "Questions over the evidence to support medical interventions for minors have been central to debate worldwide as demand for the treatments has increased. An influential report released in Britain last year found that the scientific evidence on the benefits and risks of the treatment was 'remarkably weak,' and concluded by recommending that puberty blockers be restricted to research trials only. Several European countries, and most recently New Zealand, have imposed restrictions."

One reason the NYT has burned its credibility with trans people is that they still cite the discredited Cass report in reporting on trans healthcare. Never the German, Utah, or other systematic reviews supporting care. They also never provide the political context behind restrictions in care.
