On paper, Salvador Cavazos earns less than $300,000 to run Valere Public Schools, a small Texas charter network. But taxpayers likely aren’t aware that in reality, his total pay makes him one of the country’s highest-earning superintendents.

I try audiobooks the same way I do podcasts. 2x-3x speed. For the most part 1x is too slow as my mind can capture more information faster. My mind will wander at 1x-1.5x speeds and for the most part 2x has been my norm for information heavy videos as well.

A simple drawing, or diagram, of the head in profile. The front of the head (face) and the depth of the skull (top of the head) are marked and highlighted to show they are the same length.

                                            More simple diagrams:
1. A stock photo of a skull in profile. The height and depth are both illustrated to be the same length.
2. A stock photo of a child and an adult in profile. The same two equidistant lines are imposed over the photos, to illustrate that the depth and length of the skull are generally equidistant at any age.

*GENERALLY,* the proportions of the length of the skull and and the depth of the skull are the same length!
This is an easy thing to spot once you know to look for it! A lot of artists draw very LONG faces and very SHALLOW skulls before they know to keep this in mind!

in hindsight the plot of The Great Gatsby makes infinitely more sense when you remember that the author and all of the characters have been driven to the brink of stark-raving, shoelace-eating madness by three years of a global flu pandemic

One thing they don't tell you when you begin to heal from trauma is that it feels very uncomfortable to exist without being activated. Sometimes we survive so long in a perpetual trauma response that stillness and peace feel unearned and we question it. Keep going, I hear it gets easier.

OMG! @criticalrole.bsky.social sent me a copy of Exquisite Exandria, their official cookbook!!!! Including an absolutely adorable apron and kitchen mitts! The photography inside the book is gorgeous! I’ll be reading it more in depth later today and deciding what to make first! So excited!
