The US Institute of Peace is an independent, non-profit institution. It is not a government agency. This means DOGE is expanding its attacks to the civil society sector, as we see in authoritarian states like China & Russia. Our democracy is under siege.

We should all condemn this attack on an effective agency working to save lives and prevent violence, and on the rogue agency trying to gut such programs in order to give away a giant tax cut to billionaires!

This is yet another example of the lawless nature of DOGE and the administration, and it is targeting an organization that works to prevent conflict before it escalates, which is much more effective than trying to deal with the consequences of violence.
