But unbeknownst to jm, somewhere in a luxury penthouse in the city that never sleeps, jk was sitting by the big window at night while looking out to the city. Mindlessly staring ahead to the shimmering lights in the dark sky with a glass of wine in his hand,

another goodbye for the second time. He didn’t think his heart could handle that heartbreak again. So jm could only indulge in his dream where he actually could see the younger man. The only place where he allowed himself to bask in the happiness of being loved by someone so fiercely and devotedly.

Sometimes his hand twitched and he almost reached out to his phone, but he stopped himself before he could do something foolish. And each time, he almost did make a call.

But in the end, jm never dared to do that because he feared rejection. He’s afraid to say hello to jk, just for risking to say

He was thinking if somehow in the big city of New York, jk was also sleepless at night and thinking about him too. Sometimes he wondered if he picked up his phone to call the man, would he answer him? If he ever told him that he’d missed him, would he believe him and say that he’d miss him too?

his mind would always drift away to the man that he had loved with everything he had before he lost consciousness and fell asleep -and sometimes with lonely tears in his eyes-. His last thought before the restless sleep took over him were always the same.

coming back to him -the pleasant ones and the bitter one- whenever he was alone in his own space during a night like this, haunting and reminding him about what he once had and lost. Every night, even though his body was worn out to the bone from dancing and practicing,

So he persistently endured, while weeping for his broken heart. Wishing for the days when it would be less painful. Hoping for the day this heartache would simply become a bittersweet memory.

But who was he kidding? Because his heart could never fully heal and the memories would be always

that he’d had since he was young when his parents were still alive and always encouraged him to follow his dream. They really believe that jm could become someone that he’d always dreamt of and they always told him that they always knew that jm would make them proud someday.

At least at that moment, he was having jk by his side to comfort and protect him from the world as he’s grieving. But he surely had no one this time and losing jk too was the last thing he ever thought to happen in his life. But he also didn’t want to lose himself and abandon the dream

That was the most miserable moment for jm in his twenty-eight of his life. It hurted so much until he cried for days after that night. His heart bled and it clenched so painfully, more than when he lost his parents in a car accident when he was in high school.

He’s frozen on his seat, while his eyes stayed glued to the closed door where jk’s back was the last thing he saw when the younger closed the door quietly, looking at it with empty eyes as his mind was turning into a mess. He felt so lost. He couldn’t feel what’s real & what’s dream for him anymore.

With those last words of well wishes, jk then left. Walking out the door of his apartment without turning back, leaving him & walking out from his life -for good-. And jm was too dumbfounded, too shocked from the situation that followed by this unexpected decision to even chase after him.

Obviously he couldn’t bear to be close with jm at this moment because it’s too painful for him to accept their separation. To be forced to let go.
