Happy Soviet Union Collapse Day. Let that be a lesson to any State Socialist regime out there. You can fall and you are not invincible.

Don’t trust government bureaucrats to carry out the wills of Marx or anyone else.

Happy birthday Shannon Woodward! πŸŽ‰

Shannon's portrayal of Dina in The Last of Us Part II brought joy, gravity, and everything in between to this crucial character.

I find it to be sort of repetitive and while I don’t find the writing to be terrible, I think there’s definitely a bunch of series that have writing beyond it. It has a great presence and iconography though I’ll say.

While I disagree that the series is the greatest of all time, particular due to significant criticisms I have with season 3 and season 4 (despite my liking S4), I can’t deny that I think that Breaking Bad has absolutely great storytelling overall.

While I do like Season 2 of Stranger Things…

If the 5th season is on the level of S3 then I’ll just say that they should’ve ended it at S2 then. The Mind Flayer still being alive was really only the real loose end in S2.

What other series do you consider to be β€˜greatest of all time’ then?

In 1996, Brewster Kahle wrote "Preserving the Internet" for Scientific American. Nearly 30 years later, it’s striking how many of his predictions about digital preservation came trueβ€”and how many challenges remain.

Let’s compare 1996 vs 2025 🧡

Yeah, the game isn’t perfect. I myself would’ve left it as optional where you can inadvertently save civilian lives, or someone else like Luego carries it out instead? Showing how their unit has still been pushed into this by their circumstances and environment they put themselves in.

It presented Walker going insane, and despite being fairly blunt, the presentation was well-done even though I could tell that he was hallucinating Konrad’s voice since probably Ch 11. I didn’t think he was dead though. Authentically shows how anyone could fall into this mindset when pushed into it

I feel it interesting as a critique because in the moment for awhile, you may have forgotten that this started out as β€˜find any refugees and report back to command for them to send in the evacuation team’ and that it’s now morphed into something quite different over time. I also liked how…

Well that’s basically the target audience though. No one who has watched β€˜Apocalypse Now’ is going to find it that revolutionary in terms of expressing the escalation of U.S military intervention. Still, I experienced it because I was interested in the deconstruction aspects of the game.

little choice but to destroy the water, possibly destroy the towers, and slaughter civilians with the white phosphorus.

It’s true though that the game does end up presenting the argument that you the player should’ve just turned back after killing a few of the rebels, but you can’t in the game tho.

04.10.2025 19:45 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

There are select situations where you can choose to not do so though. You can choose to not shoot the CIA agent, choose the save the civilians, and choose to not shoot at the rilled up civilians that captured Luego. It is true though, the for the sake of bluntly exploring the themes, you do have…

To be fair to the developers, the developers expected that most people who bought the game would buy into this complex with Walker to a degree, which I why I suspect that the loading screens taunt the player for continuing. I still think that it’s not for those who R against Walker’s justifications.

Just passed a Raising Canes, Popeyes, and KFC all lined up as neighbors. Across the street was Zaxbys. I've arrived in some sort of fried chicken singularity.

I don’t understand this take? I feel like the game is criticizing the glorious hero complex pit where Walker and the player may dig themselves into a hole? Not just saying that you are a bad person for experiencing it, but for justifying Walker moving on.

04.10.2025 19:16 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Definitely strange, but people should be free to watch whatever they want regardless though.

I would say that it would be terrible for his family despite how he is as a person, but I’m still not certain on if the majority of his family care about him or not? They could just tolerate him even.

To be fair though, Mussolini was killed and he had a family too though.

Nah to me there’s two different kinds when it comes to that. It’s the other kind that you need to worry about where someone seriously tries to clearly justify actions taken objectively instead of understanding them and the character.

I almost missed out. Outside of the flashbacks I was so focused on finding enough that would make Abby good and explicit reasonings for doing so that I ended up overlooking her character development through nuances and details up to late in Day 2. Glad to say that on reflection Abby works for me.

Just my interpretation but when he gives that look when he’s thinking to himself, I do think that is him acknowledging that based on his talks and experience with Ellie; it is what Ellie wants, but he can’t handle it and also wants there to be a better life for her.
