Weirdly enough I was wondering about how migrating birds sleep in the wing in the middle of the night. How do they have the energy to continually fly in calm conditions? Let alone when the wind is against them or if it is stormy.

Rebellious day today. Left-over roast chicken and stuffing for breakfast (with mint sauce). Might even open a packet of crisps from the bottom later. 🤩

We did a similar job with our house except it looked a lot less condemned at the time! Those zeroes can get very unruly. My pet favourite was the trades pointing out that a particular task was difficult.

#FirstBirdOfMyDay is a huge swan ambling into the garden. It should be a delight but it seems very unhappy. It's found it's reflection in a pane of glass and doesn't seem to want to leave it. I hope it hasn't just lost it's mate. It's also the biggest swan I remember seeing.

This looks like a beautiful project to contribute to - especially because I have just finished reading Sea Bean by Sally Huband - a beautiful book on beachcombing.
