Not at this stage. First step is to get the infrastructure built. Councils are doing the on land component and state government is doing on water & service delivery (boats, contracts and timetabling)

The closure of two major private health services within Hobart City only adds weight to the calls I have been making for years, recently alongside the AMA for the planning of a second public hospital in Greater Hobart to get underway immediately.

Football can wait, expectant mums and dads cannot.

Calvary does not have the capacity to take on HPH clients and so they will inevitably turn to the Royal Hobart Hospital. This will undoubtably put pressure on an already stretched workforce.

Much like the closure of the private mental health hospital “St Helens”, this is a devastating blow for the people of Hobart. Especially as the mother and baby unit was moved to an inappropriate place within RHH as a result.

This is my son Emerson taken a few days after he was born at Hobart Private Hospital. Today, we have learned that Healthscope are closing the doors to the next generation and will no longer offer maternity services.

Thrilled to let #politas know the West Hobart Local Area Mobility Plan was endorsed by Council last night.

The proposed changes will bring our community closer. It will discourage people using the “rat run” & encourage walking or riding around our wonderful suburb more often in comfort & safety.

“It should not be easier to build forever Airbnbs than actual homes. The best way to correct this perverse imbalance is to relax planning controls on medium-density and infill residential developments.”

Yeah, it seems to be related to building cost increases. I do wonder if density is part of the problem: that we don’t allow dense enough developments for projects to be financially viable…

I think it’s unlikely as demand remains pretty strong. It’s a major issue if developers go down this route instead of just building housing/apartments.

I am appalled the planning scheme allows this to happen.

How can can this be considered a residential development and not a commercial hotel #politas ?

So strange that business lobby group leaders think that traffic through our CBD represents business. Liverpool/elizabeth sees about 12k pedestrians/day compared to 4k cars.
