You probably read Venezuelan propaganda. They tell their people that nobody lives in the region and it's just jungle & snakes with a few indigenous tribes.

Over 100,000 Guyanese live in the Essequibo region of the country and most are not Amerindians.

Man Utd already have three points fewer than they managed from the equivalent fixtures last season as they drew with Arsenal at home and beat Fulham away in 2024-25. They might actually get relegated at this rate 😜

The Goliath Water Lily(Victoria amazonica) is a species of flowering plant native to the Amazon Basin and Guyana, renowned for its enormous leaves, which can reach up to 3m (10ft) in diameter and support significant weight due to their ribbed structure and internal air pockets. #ai #nature #earth

Will be interesting to see how they work this out considering you need VPN to remotely access secure work networks to work away from the office if you're working for any credible organisation that cares about the security of it's data. Do any of these MPs have any idea what they're doing?

Starmer defends Online Safety Act as `child protectionΒ΄ Rules introduced under the Act on July 25 require online platforms to take steps to prevent children accessing harmful content.

The introduction of age-verification in the UK this weekend appears to be an unmitigated disaster. Anyone accessing socials now has to upload ID, scan their face or otherwise verify. The outrage is widespread and everyone is just finding workarounds.

The government has gone into defense.

Recently the government started rolling out speed cameras & are going to start serving fines for speeding but that will need to be done nationwide not just on a few roads.

Problem is in Guyana is there is massive infrastructure investments so they're getting multi-lane highways so the dunces over there will see it as a reason to speed & then you have dunce pedestrians who don't know how to use crossing. Disaster waiting to happen.

29.07.2025 20:50 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah I grew up with that too and something needs to be done there too but Guyana is worse. People just doing all kinds of dunce bullshit

33 new species of fish were found in the Acarai-Corentyne Corridor in #Guyana during a rapid inventory by a team of experts in 2024 and recently confirmed. Dr. Lesley de Souza, Senior Conservation Ecologist at the Chicago Field Museum highlighted the discovery @ Global Biodiversity Alliance Summit.

Me with the ticket I bought that was invalid

Buying train tickets is one of my least favourite parts of adulting, but I thought even I could manage to buy a ticket that was valid. I was wrong ⬇️

At around 8 PM on Monday evening, I bought a ticket from the machine at Euston station from London to Liverpool Lime Street. 1/8

But an open letter written by the warden of St Michael and All Angels church, Robert Littler, claimed Pochin was trying to fulfil a "personal agenda".

Mr Littler, who has lived in the street for 30 years, accused the MP of "scaremongering and hate-stirring and talking down a town which you were elected to represent".

He added: "My own daughters, aged 27, 20 and 18 respectively, walk our family dog at all hours of the night and feel very safe."

Mr Littler said the HMOs had existed for years, housing many types of people, "mostly white British".

He suggested Pochin could not know if there were any illegal immigrants in the properties unless she asked for their documentation.

Lynne Delaney, 74, who has lived on Greenway Road for nearly 40 years, told the Local Democracy Reporting Service, external Pochin did not speak for her.

"The only anti-social behaviour I've witnessed is high-spirited teenagers who tend to grow out of it," she said.

Fascinating BBC story about Reform MP Sarah Pochin saying a local street is blighted by immigrations living in shared accommodation, only for locals to suggest this is bollocks. Political lesson: take on church wardens and sensible pensioners at your peril.
