I’ve always heard that this film was criticized for glorifying BandC and also showing the result of criminals and being too violent . I don’t know that a film can do both. It makes them into American myths but I don’t think it glorifies them. #TCMparty

I love Gabriel Over the White House. It’s an odd film made at a time when people were worried FDR might over reach his powers due to the Depression. Not a great film but very interesting in context with when it was made.

So they play this clip at a gay bar in Chicago called Sidetrack on showtime night. I was there once and a young guy next to me pointed to the screen and told his friend “I think that’s Lady Gaga’s mother”
