In response to a post from the Gov of Washington State, The Adjutant General of the Washington National Guard Gen Gent Welsh posted “I can 100% assure you that the Washington National Guard is not supporting any immigration or border patrol operations. This team is 100% focused on keeping Washington safe and helping our neighbors and communities.” The post he was responding to from Washington Governor Bob Ferguson stated “If you see National Guard service members out in our communities, they're here to keep Washingtonians safe. I deeply appreciate the work they're doing” and was accompanied by a memo in both Spanish and English explaining that he (meaning not Trump) was the one who activated them and only for disaster response to our floods and that they will NOT be doing any immigration activity.

A FB Post from Washington State Governor Bob Ferguson stating: “If you see National Guard service members out in our communities, they're here to keep Washingtonians safe. It’s sad that the Commander of the entire Washington National Guard & the Governor of WA had to put out statements so brown people drowning in floodwaters wouldn’t fear those coming to rescue them. What’s worse is there are actually people mad they aren’t checking papers when they rescue people.
