The funny thing is Doug Ford says students shouldn't take basket weaving but his inherited wealth comes from making stickers.

This was, I guess, inevitable. But AFAIK every other mass shooting in Canadian history has been perpetrated by a Cisgender male. If there’s truly a link between gender identity and mass violence, the data makes it pretty clear where the threat lies (and where it doesn’t).

A vibrant Canadian flag with a trans pride twist, waving proudly against a clear blue sky over a scenic landscape. The flag features the traditional Canadian maple leaf in the center, but instead of red, it's rendered with the light blue, pink, and white stripes of the Transgender Pride Flag. The two outer red bars of the Canadian flag are replaced by horizontal light blue stripes, and the inner white bar is replaced by horizontal pink stripes. This creates a powerful symbol of transgender inclusion within Canadian identity. The flag is mounted on a silver flagpole with a golden finial, and behind it, a beautiful natural setting unfolds with rolling hills, dark green pine trees, and a bright, expansive sky, suggesting a hopeful and accepting environment. The overall impression is one of national pride intertwined with transgender visibility and acceptance.

To those in Canada starting HRT: don't give up if your family doctor won't help. I found that while some say no, there are many compassionate doctors that offer gender-affirming resources who truly understand gender dysphoria.

Your care is out there.

Keep pushing! 🇨🇦🏳️‍⚧️

Spent a couple of hours at re-Cycles with my #winterbike and great volunteers who helped me solve a couple of problems. It was a great experience. I learned some stuff, spent time talking about bikes and winter biking and I’ll be back on the road again. I will definitely be back! #ottbike

I like the building. I like the idea of a station downtown. Where do we put the tracks to get the trains to and from the station? If we end up with a situation where the trains can’t go through the station, do we end up with a situation where the trains have to waste travel time backing out?

The reason why cyclists and pedestrians push back against these types of campaigns is not because we think visibility is bad (I wear hig-viz!), but because it's victim blaming that diverts attention from the real issues: dangerous drivers and poor infrastructure

Councillor Tim Tierney is wrong about ‘Chronic No-Voters’ in his Ottawa Citizen Op/Ed on Saturday.
His opinion would be easier to take seriously if the comments weren’t coming from someone with a 15-year track record of being a reliable yes-man for every budget. 1/21

Physician Pulse reveals a worrying trust gap.

Forty three percent of physicians across Canada say they do not feel trusted or respected by their provincial government.

In Alberta that rises to 76 percent and in Quebec to 84 percent.

The lady at the charity shop today told me that she wishes people would clear out their children's old toys in the lead up to Christmas rather than after because she always sees a number of parents in the days before Christmas looking for toys for their little ones who might be strapped for cash. She said there's very rarely anything in just before, but that they get inundated with toys in the days after.

And it really made me think about it in a way I never would have before. If you know your child is going to get lots of presents from father Christmas this year, by clearing out your cupboards a few days early you could make another child's Christmas a lot more special too.

Saw this & thought I'd repost

Federal government launches tracking system to monitor office attendance A new tracking system will keep an eye on federal public servants to monitor whether they’re meeting the three-day in-office mandate.

This is a terrible idea and a terrible way to manage people. It is a waste of taxpayer dollars and a great way to destroy trust. If an org. cant tell if people are doing their jobs regardless of location, they have bigger issues to solve than monitoring attendance.
