I’m not American or in the US, but this seems timely to boost.

Federal government launches tracking system to monitor office attendance A new tracking system will keep an eye on federal public servants to monitor whether they’re meeting the three-day in-office mandate.

This is a terrible idea and a terrible way to manage people. It is a waste of taxpayer dollars and a great way to destroy trust. If an org. cant tell if people are doing their jobs regardless of location, they have bigger issues to solve than monitoring attendance.

Assume the threshold is the posted speed limit. The limit is posted, which is the gov’t telling us the threshold. The line has already been drawn at the limit. Any speed above that is fair game. If the threshold is some amount over the limit then we are just setting a new, higher limit.

Within 48 hrs, Trump’s FCC threatened Disney/ABC’s license and they caved.

That’s not “cancel culture.” That’s state censorship in real time.

A free and democratic society cannot silence comedians because the President doesn’t like what they say.

Kirk was a guy who had opinions I 100% disagree with. He also had the right to say them. Kimmel had opinions/ jokes that I like. He has the right to say them.

Kirk should not have been murdered for his opinions. Kimmel should not be canceled for his.

There was no meeting scheduled today. The first meeting of this committee this week is on Thursday. This is bullshit theatre designed to make people angry, and we used to shame MPs who engaged in it. Charlie Kirk knowingly said a great number of despicable things. To the extent that words matter, he made the world a worse place. This doesn't mean he deserved to be the recipient of violence No one does. This is never the answer. But don't normalize Kirk as one of the good guys

Our politics seems to be entering a phase of "right supremacy" where only the lives of right-wingers have value. Assassinating the leader of a state legislative body in her own damn home was business as usual, but all of America has to have a reckoning if it's a far-right online influencer.

I didn't have any particular awareness of Charlie Kirk before yesterday. Now I've learned more about him - his views were terrible and he likely caused a lot of harm to a lot of people.

Also. gun violence is terrible and people should not be murdered.
