I was a counterprotester on January 6. Holding an anti-Trump sign outside the Capitol, I was assaulted. I witnessed the rioters carrying weapons and shouting in unison about murdering Congress.

January 6th was not a peaceful protest. It was a violent coup attempt by Trump supporters. Never forget.
