This team's ascension on the defensive end is a massive part for the higher KenPom net rating. This type of commitment to defense is likely to be a standard, year to year hallmark of McCollom teams. And at some point, the offense will have more weapons. I think the S16 drought ends within 5yrs

Iowa will also end this season with its highest defensive rating score on KenPom's metrics since Adam Woodbury's senior year. Those early McCaffery teams actually had solid defensive metrics, and Woodbury, despite not being a shot blocker, was a big reason for that (pun intended).

The only team to rank higher was the 2020-2021 team at 26.87, who finished ranked 7th in the nation and were 22-9 / 14-6. That team had Garza as NPOTY, Wieskamp, Bohanon, and a young Keegan Murray, along with Connor McCaffery and CJ Fredrick.

Iowa currently has a KenPom net rating of 23.11. This is the delta of offense rating less defense rating. It's how he ranks teams. If the season ended today, that would be the second-highest rating for an Iowa basketball team using these metrics, since the start of the KenPom era in 1997.

That is better talent. But would they have bought in on the defensive demands? That seems like a non starter for Ben

The ABS system from spring training has already led me to this opinion; if we’re going to continue to have human umpires call the vast majority of balls and strikes, then pitch framing needs to be banned.

I am not into giving spring training game updates, but will make an exception when Jac Caglianone hits a ball 115 mph that travels 460 feet. It sounded as if the ball was vaporized.

Of all Presidementia's prior State-of-the-Unions I've not watched in the past, tonight's State-of-the-Union is the State-of-the-Union I'm not watching the most. 🍊🚫

In this, I would think that the term God could be substituted for programmer, designer, etc. It would be difficult for me to apply the notions of traditional Godlike figures from human history, and applying their mythology to this notion. But that’s just me.

If this sort of thing is your jam, this genre of thought, big questions asked and viewed through the prism that we may be living in a simulation that very well may be running out of RAM...send me a DM and I will share the link with you. It's about 10,000 words, or 24 pages single spaced in docs

And to give me its 'opinions' which led to a mesmerizing (to me) 'discussion' that pretty much fueled about a dozen ideas for a dystopian (with hope) scifi novel I will write in a few years. I was blown away by several aspects of the exchange and I copied it all over to a google doc.

I am not saying these are novel concepts, and these are things I often wonder about since deconstructing from religion...plus I am a neurodivergent scifi nerd. So I sat down and wrote about five pages of thoughts, essay style. I then uploaded it to Gemini and asked it to analyze it

I am not a big fan of AI, mostly because of the environmental ills. But I am fascinated by it. Last night after some 'gardening', I was thinking a great deal about Simulation Theory, if humans are a form of NPCs in some massive Open World video game, sort of like Red Dead or GTA...

Such fascinating psychology. Grace and I both agree that on rewatch we come to despise WW. I was always more drawn to the humanity in Mike and Jesse. What was left of Mike’s and what kept trying to emerge with Jesse. Even tho I didn’t really care for El Camino, it was nice to close the Jesse arc

You and Doc waxing about the finale on the podcast was my last straw to check it out. I binged it over two weeks. Got like four hours of sleep a night. And felt like the cops were gonna come for me any minute as tho I was somehow complicit in Walter and Jesse’s enterprise. But fuck Todd

It is interesting watching old movies or shows from a more mature or experienced perspective. True. I just knew after the one time I watched it that I could only handle that darkness once. Then again, I am currently finishing my third watch through of breaking bad

People getting excited about Iowa maybe being in the lead for a highly touted QB. Sorry not sorry, but if you don’t have a resume of moving the ball with your legs, I’m just not interested.
