As many are noting, this is not true! On Amtrak back in August, I was opening my wallet to show a conductor my driver's license without thinking, and he said “I don’t need your ID, sweetheart. I ain’t the police.” Then we both laughed.

From what I’m seeing on the ground here in the DMV, people remain enraged at ICE and are mobilizing to protect their community.

Maybe the media has moved on. Ordinary people haven’t.
