We are on the brink of multiple future pandemics and decline of democracy- ignoring this-or denying this sets us up for a really bad situation.
Bottom line- our med organizations need to stand for SOMETHING. Stop holding conferences in states that don’t honor human rights.

The unwillingness to realize That Covid isn’t over- the unwillingness to recognize invisible/chronic illness and provide accommodations or respect for those with long COVID, or any other illness is appalling. Life should look different now- we should be able to have proper accommodations.

Also- since we’re talking about human rights violations- -Med societies- please bring back a virtual option. Make us pay! (If your reasoning is money)
Some of us are immune compromised- and there are no mask mandates and raging infectious diseases including TB and Measles.

While these things can happen anywhere, I specifically would not travel to places where my rights aren’t valued. Requiring doctors especially for women’s health to travel to these states seems contradictory to the supposed values of ACOG, The menopause society, etc.

Or trying to conceive-And something happened while I was at a conference-one that is for women’s healthcare providers-and I needed management for a miscarriage or ectopic pregnancy in a state where I’m only considered a “vessel”
Or- What if I were a visa holder/non citizen or non white?

Just a thought- can our med societies and organizations for womens health have their national meetings in places that support people who menstruate, trans rights, or general safety of women?
