For stats: speed is how fast Uma can run. Stamina is how long she can last at her maximum speed. Power is how fast she can achieve her maximum speed. Guts don't do anything. Wit helps managing stamina and decreases chance of getting blocked during the race by Umas ahead (300 wit is usually enough)

Career is like simulated universe in HSR. You pick stats and skills that suit your character. After ending the career, all your buffs are saved and are called "veteran". To win a race in daily races or PVP you use said veteran
