ਇਹ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤਿਉਹਾਰ ਬਸੰਤ ਦੇ ਆਗਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਾਨਣ ਦੀ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਕ ਹੈ। ਪਰਿਵਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਦੋਸਤ ਇਸ ਜਸ਼ਨ ਨੂੰ ਰਵਾਇਤੀ ਖਾਣੇ ਨਾਲ, ਨੱਚ ਕੇ, ਅਤੇ ਰੰਗ-ਬਿਰੰਗੇ ਗੁਲਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ-ਦੂਜੇ ‘ਤੇ ਛਿੜਕ ਕੇ ਮਨਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।

यह हिंदू त्योहार बसंत के आगमन और अंधकार पर रौशनी की विजय का प्रतीक है। परिवार और दोस्त इस उत्सव को पारंपरिक भोजन के साथ, नृत्य करके और एक-दूसरे पर रंग-बिरंगा गुलाल लगाकर मनाते हैं।

This Hindu holiday marks the arrival of spring and symbolizes the triumph of light over darkness. Families and friends gather to share food, dance, and toss bright coloured powders in celebration.

New in BC Permanent Daylight Saving Time Starts Sunday, March 8

When we turn the clocks ahead on March 8, it will be the last time change ever for BC. We're changing to a permanent daylight saving time, simply called Pacific Time (PT).

Rental Protection Fund surpasses 2,000 homes protected across B.C. The Globe and Mail, Feb. 2, 2026

Protecting rental homes helps renters stay in the communities they've built their lives around. That means thousands of people can keep close to work, school, family and friends. This work will continue so that more people stay connected to what matters most.

We hear you, Rick, and of course we encourage all employers to consider providing at least a living wage to their workers. And many are doing just that - BC has one of the highest average hourly wages in Canada. Both businesses and workers benefit from certain, predictable increases.

On June 1, 2026, minimum wage in BC will go up to $18.25 an hour. BC’s minimum wage was once one of the lowest in the country and is now one of the highest.

These regular, gradual increases provide certainty for workers and predictability for businesses.
