As a white middle class kid growing up in the pre-Lange years, the notion that NZ did things first/best rested in my DNA.
These days, not so much.
But. I still believe in one thing.
Wherever you go in the world, you will never get fresh fish as good as here in Aotearoa.

Costs associated with the solar system include:
- 2 new heat pump how water units, inc eye-watering plumbing & electrical costs
- upgrading the house's main distribution board
- new wiring for an induction hob
- wiring for an EV charger
Right now the bills are coming in left, right & centre for the mammoth amount of work required to solarise our little whare at Balloch Street.
Trying to balance the feelings of unease at all that spending with the knowledge that by mid-April we'll be generating power for pretty much all our needs.
Just got boosted hby

If Trump decides to lift US sanctions on Russia, Luxon's Govt will...

Yes everyone hates Luxon but it's the Govt's policies that have gotten us in this shit & the policies are unlikely to change more than an iota* regardless of whoever the new National leader PM is.

Look I don't follow sport much but is the current Black Ferns 7s the best sports team Aotearoa's ever produced?

Just remembering how Luxon bought a new Tesla EV when there was a Clean Car Discount, then cancelled the policy so others couldn't do it, and is now canning the Clean Car Standards and adding a new tax to petrol.
What a guy.

Sure Luxon's toast but I'm still struggling with exactly who is capable of saving the day for National.
That's a staggeringly low-quality caucus they have there.

Has there been ANY local political analysis of how Australia & Canada are deepening ties, and how New Zealand doesn't seem to be involved?
I mean, on the face of it this is quite significant (and more-so that whether Mr Luxon's feelings have ben hurt by reaction to his media-briefing incoherence)
Also zero mentions of how any other party fared in that poll. Very strange.
