It's so encouraging to see libraries being proud of, and publicly proclaiming, their support for #DiamondOpenAccess. We are absolutely equally proud to be able to include Bodleian Libraries, University of Oxford @bodleian.ox.ac.uk as one of our supporters. Thanks so much, on behalf of our Members! 😍

Excellent post detailing the rationale that lay behind the creation of Open Book Collective and other similar collective funding initiatives.

We have to stop thinking of open access in terms of 'free' content & instead start viewing it as infrastructure and labour that needs systematic funding.

Last year, we funded projects empowering research in Ethiopia, Latin America, and Colombia. As a reviewer, you’ll provide feedback on 1–2 applications (March–May) to help us select the next round of impactful OA initiatives. You just need an understanding of Diamond OA and the OBC’s mission.

We’ve been made aware of individuals receiving emails claiming to be from the OBC, requesting fees from authors. To be clear: OBC does not charge individuals, book clubs, or authors for meetings/events. We're a collective funding model that channels library support to OA publishers & infrastructure.
